General Exams

Periodic eye and vision examinations are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms. As a result, individuals are often unaware that problems exist. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for maintaining good vision and eye health, and when possible, preventing vision loss.

If you will be a new patient to our office, you can expect your appointment will usually take 1 to 2 hours. Your eyes will be dilated, unless medically contraindicated, as part of a thorough eye examination. You will experience blurry vision, and sunlight exposure may be uncomfortable. We encourage you to have a driver as these symptoms may cause difficulty driving. We will supply you with a pair of disposable sunglasses before you leave our office.

We ask that you bring the following items when you come for your exam:

  • Health insurance card
  • Valid form of identification
  • List of current medications
  • Current contact lenses or the box with contact lens specifications
  • Current pair of eyeglasses
